Danny Smart, BSc, TAg

Environmental Scientist

Danny is an environmental scientist who received an undergraduate degree in Natural Resource Management with a minor in First Nations Studies from the University of Northern British Columbia. Through her education and work experience Danny has gained a deep understanding of Indigenous culture and the need for Indigenous involvement in all project aspects. She has focused her work within ecological restoration, and more specifically within invasive plant management. Danny has worked across BC conducting vegetation and critical habitat surveys, terrestrial ecosystem mapping, and developing restoration prescriptions. Danny has a wide range of skills including plant identification, data collection and analysis, project management, and technical review on large industrial projects. Danny has combined her technical skills with a passion in fostering relationships between industry and Indigenous communities, as well as improving food security challenges for various communities.

In her spare time, Danny can be found mountain biking local trails and resorts, hiking, camping, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and spending time with her dogs Mabel and Walter.
