Emma Bradshaw, MSc, HBSc
Marine Biologist
Emma is a marine biologist holding both a Bachelors in Marine Biology and Masters in Conservation Biology. Through her research she has strived to integrate knowledge of species biology, movement and behaviour into ecological models to develop future conservation solutions that are effective for species preservation. Although she is fascinated by everything found in the ocean, her passion lies specifically in shark conservation and the role that marine protected areas can play in marine conservation.
Throughout her academic and professional careers, Emma has had the opportunity to acquire experience with environmental education programs, environmental policies and carbon mitigation programs, as well as GIS and ecological modelling. Additionally, she has been able to conduct fieldwork on a variety of species including corals in Bermuda, birds in Sweden and sharks in Nova Scotia. These experiences have allowed Emma to develop a variety of skills in data acquisition and analysis, interprofessional collaboration, and oral and written communication.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys hiking, walking or going to the gym, as well as reading and spending time with friends and family.
