This is the key specialty area of Keefer Ecological Services Ltd. Our core team specializes in vegetation and ecosystem inventories, habitat assessments, wildlife habitat enhancement projects, ecosystem mapping, revegetation using native species, and mitigation strategies surrounding various impacts.
Combined, Mr. Keefer and Mr. Moody have completed vegetation assessments and mitigation projects for Teck Coal, BC Hydro, Fortis BC, Columbia Power Corporation, BC Ministry of Environment, pipeline and forest companies. Within these projects they have completed rare plant surveys, plant salvage strategies, ecosystem mapping, air photo delineation and interpretation, management prescriptions, prescribed burn plans, revegetation strategies, ethnobotanical surveys, and ecosystem restoration plans.
Our team is also competent and experienced at all levels of environmental monitoring, from the supervision of projects that may impact archaeology, fish and fish habitat and other environmental values.
Further to monitoring potential impacts of construction, we are highly experienced, educated and competent at designing and implementing complex science based environmental research monitoring. This type of service includes monitoring and evaluating the impact of various mitigations such as plantings, fish habitat structures, stream crossings, archaeological site protection, cultural impacts, and a host of other values.
Our extensive experience in working with First Nations as well as our network within First Nations helps ensure that projects engage local First Nations in the implementation phase in an efficient and culturally appropriate manner.
